Between the lines
There are feelings that are never spoken… but they are felt.
Not everyone is good at putting their pain into words.
Some smile while they are worn out.
Some fall silent because they are tired of explaining.
And some look strong… only because they cannot afford to fall apart.
We see the words…
but we do not always see what lies behind them.
Behind irritability there may be fear.
Behind coldness there may be a long-held disappointment.
Behind silence there may be a soul hurting in a voice too low for anyone to hear.
So do not judge people quickly by their reactions alone.
A person is far deeper than what shows.
Sometimes a harsh word is not hatred…
it is a cry for help.
And sometimes withdrawal is not indifference…
it is emotional exhaustion that has reached its limit.
Every person carries inside them a story nobody else knows.
Silent battles…
old betrayals…
accumulated pressures…
and needs that never found anyone to understand them.
That is why real awareness is no longer only hearing what is said…
but sensing what lies between the lines.
Noticing the exhaustion behind the smile.
Seeing the need behind the anger.
Understanding that some behaviour is not wickedness… but pain that never found the right holding.
When a person is understood… they settle.
When they feel safe… they change.
And when they find someone who listens to their heart and not only to their words… they begin to heal.
So be more merciful in your judgements.
More aware in your listening.
And more humane with the hearts that are holding on in silence.
Because there are people…
whose only real need was
for someone to feel what they could not say. 🤍
